Tellico Plains Brewing Company Review

Tellico Plains Brewing Company is a smaller, no-frills brewery that focuses on what matters—good beer, a relaxed atmosphere, and a strong local feel. It’s not trying to be a destination powerhouse, and that’s exactly why it works. You come here for a solid pint, an easygoing vibe, and a place that feels connected to the town around it.

🌆 About Tellico Plains

Tellico Plains is one of those towns that’s quietly on the rise. You’ve got a few new spots popping up, more riders and travelers coming through, and just enough growth to keep things interesting—without losing that small-town character.

What really puts it on the map is its role as the launch pad to the Cherohala Skyway, drawing in riders from all over. It’s a natural starting point—or finishing point—for one of the best rides in the region.

📍 The Details

Hours:
Wednesday–Saturday, 12 PM – 9 PM (always check before heading out)

🍻 The Beer

For a smaller brewery, they keep a tight, well-executed lineup on tap.

What you’ll find:

  • Clean, balanced lagers and ales
  • Rotating seasonal options
  • Easy-drinking beers that hit right without overcomplicating things

This is a quality-over-quantity setup. You’re not digging through a massive list—you’re choosing from a solid selection that’s consistently good.

🌄 Atmosphere

Simple, welcoming, and exactly what you want in a small-town brewery.

  • Cozy taproom with a local crowd
  • Friendly, laid-back staff
  • Outdoor seating for good weather days
  • Occasional live music and community events

It’s comfortable, unpretentious, and easy to spend more time here than you planned.

🏍️ Riding From Here

This is where Tellico Plains really earns its spot—it’s not just a stop, it’s a launch point in multiple directions.

  • Head north and you can be in Knoxville in just a little over an hour
  • Head east and run the Cherohala Skyway into Robbinsville—also a little over an hour, and in my opinion, one of the best cruising routes in the southern Appalachian chain
  • Or head back toward Blue Ridge via Tennessee State Route 68 for another smooth, scenic ride

This is also one of our go-to stops on some of the longer rides, especially when looping the area.

👉 If you want to make a full day out of it, check out our Cherohala Loop post and turn this into a proper ride.

🧭 Final Take

Tellico Plains Brewing Company proves that smaller breweries can still deliver where it counts.

It’s a tight tap list, a great local vibe, and a perfect position in one of the best riding regions in the Southeast—without ever trying to be something it’s not.
